Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé and Alessia Cara performed in Toronto on Friday to mark the arrival of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The event preceded a match between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Alessia Cara opened the show with “Wild Things,” joined by more than two dozen dancers waving flags and displaying Canadian wildlife art. Nora Fatehi, DJ Sanjoy and Vegedream followed with “Siir” from the official FIFA album, then Elyanna and Jessie Reyez performed “Illuminate.”
Morissette sang the Canadian national anthem “O Canada.” Violinist Aleksandar Gajić played the Bosnian and Herzegovinian anthem, and Bublé closed with a rendition of Sam Cooke’s “Bring It On Home to Me” alongside the Sole Power Choir.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the ceremony reflected Canada’s identity and connected to events across Mexico and the United States. The new Port Vale partnership and song roundups were unrelated to this Toronto event.
