Star musicians performed at the opening ceremonies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup across Canada, the United States and Mexico on June 12 and 11. The events preceded the first matches in each host country.
In Toronto on June 12, Alessia Cara opened the ceremony at Toronto Stadium with her 2016 song “Wild Things.” Nora Fatehi, DJ Sanjoy and Vegedream performed “Siir,” followed by Elyanna and Jessie Reyez on “Illuminate.” Alanis Morissette sang “O Canada,” and Michael Bublé closed with “Bring It on Home to Me.”
At SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on June 12, Future and Tyla performed “Game Time” before the United States faced Paraguay. Lisa, Anitta and Rema followed with “Goals.” Katy Perry and 10-year-old Tius Luka later sang “Wonder.”
The Mexico City ceremony on June 11 featured Shakira and Burna Boy performing “Dai Dai” ahead of Mexico versus South Africa. FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the Toronto event would reflect “Canada’s identity and the energy surrounding the FIFA World Cup 2026.”
