Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced that its medical mission has delivered 645 healthcare services to pilgrims in Saudi Arabia through May 8, with no infectious diseases reported among them.
The ministry said Egyptian medical teams operate around the clock at clinics in the holy sites to provide preventive and treatment services during the Hajj season.
Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar noted ongoing coordination with Saudi health authorities to monitor conditions and enable rapid intervention when needed.
Ahmed Mostafa, head of the Egyptian medical mission, reported that 10 pilgrims were transferred to hospitals in Mecca and Medina. Two are in intensive care units, one receives intermediate care, and four remain in inpatient departments.
Mostafa highlighted the high standard of care from Saudi hospitals. The mission will continue health monitoring at accommodation sites and maintain close coordination with Saudi officials.
