Saudi authorities have deployed special teams to identify missing and hospitalized pilgrims during the peak of the 2026 Hajj season.
Saudi Arabia's General Directorate of Passports said field teams have been stationed across Makkah and the holy sites to track missing or hospitalized pilgrims. The teams are working with the Ministry of Health and the Nusuk Care initiative from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Officers are equipped with modern mobile technology that allows on-site identity verification. Reports are handled through the Hajj and Umrah command and control center in Makkah, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency.
The Saudi Scouts Association has also expanded volunteer services to support pilgrim movement to Mina during the Day of Tarwiyah.
