The Kenya Urban Roads Authority has announced a partial nightly closure of a section of Ngong Road near Junction Mall from May 18 to May 31 to complete asphalt works on the new flyover.
The Kenya Urban Roads Authority stated on May 17 that the affected stretch will be closed every night from 8 PM to 4 AM starting Monday, May 18, through Sunday, May 31. The closure will allow contractors to finish asphalt works as part of the final phase on the Ngong/Naivasha Road flyover.
KURA noted that the project includes an 800-meter elevated dual-carriageway with a 254-meter steel structure. The Ksh 3.58 billion flyover is approximately 90 percent complete and is expected to improve traffic flow ahead of the African Cup of Nations at Talanta Stadium.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes such as Hatheru Road, Gitanga Road, or the Southern Bypass and to follow instructions from traffic police and marshals during the closure hours. A similar nightly closure occurred in March for deck concreting.
