In a historic first, the Michelin Guide unveiled its selection of Philippine restaurants for 2026 on October 30, 2025, at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City. It recognized 108 establishments, including one with two stars and eight with one star. This marks a milestone for the country's culinary scene.

On Thursday, October 30, 2025, the Michelin Guide unveiled its inaugural selection for the Philippines at an awarding ceremony held at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City. This expansion marks the first time in the guide's 125-year history that it has included Philippine establishments, recognizing a total of 108: one with two Michelin stars, eight with one star, 25 under the Bib Gourmand distinction, and 74 in the Michelin Guide Selection.

Helm in Makati City, led by chef Josh Boutwood—who also runs The Test Kitchen and Juniper—earned the prestigious two stars, signifying “excellent cooking, worth a detour.” The Michelin Guide describes it as: “This modern restaurant reflects the chef’s half-British, half-Filipino roots and Spanish influences, blending creativity with precision. The themed, seasonal set menus range from street food to film-inspired surprises; the experience is always evolving yet consistently refined. Expect layered, bold flavors and intricate presentations. An open kitchen and counter seats foster connection. The warm, professional service completes the dining experience.”

The eight one-star recipients, denoting “high-quality cooking, worth a stop,” include Asador Alfonso, Celera, Gallery by Chele, Hapag by Thirdy Dolatre, Kevin Navoa, and Erin Recto, Inatô by JP Cruz, Kasa Palma by Aaron Isip, Linamnam by Don Baldosano, and Toyo Eatery by Jordy Navarra. For instance, Asador Alfonso sources ingredients from Spain for “authentic dishes that balance rustic simplicity with remarkable depth and character.”

The 25 Bib Gourmand awardees, for high-quality food at reasonable prices or “best value for money,” comprise Abaseria Deli & Cafe, Bolero, Brick Corner, and others. The 74 in the Selection category offer “a good meal” with quality ingredients, including Antonio’s, Blackbird, and Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill.

Special awards went to Don Patrick Baldosano of Linamnam for the Young Chef Award; Gallery by Chele for the Green Star in sustainability; Erin Recto of Hapag for the Service Award; and Benjamin Leal of Uma Nota for Exceptional Cocktails. This puts the Philippines on the global culinary map, elevating Filipino chefs and encouraging exploration of local flavors and diversity.
