Businesswoman Patricia Armendáriz criticized on LinkedIn the possible sale of La Casa de Toño for more than 400 million dollars, which she considers a gross undervaluation of the business.
According to Bloomberg information, La Casa de Toño is analyzing the sale to expand into the United States and Latin America. The chain hired BBVA México as financial advisor and Grupo Gigante is among the potential buyers.
Armendáriz stated that the figure equals eight times adjusted earnings and that the real value could be double or triple. She highlighted the chain's efficient operations, customer loyalty and profitability margins.
La Casa de Toño operates 81 restaurants in Mexico City and the metropolitan area since its founding in 1985 by Antonio Campos. No agreement has been confirmed so far.
