Tesla has launched charging solutions tailored for businesses operating Semi trucks. The offerings include Basechargers and Megachargers with pricing starting at $40,000 for two Basechargers or $188,000 for two Megachargers. Deliveries of Basechargers are set to begin in early 2027.
Tesla announced the introduction of Semi Charging for Businesses on May 1, providing heavy-duty fleet operators with options for efficient charging. The Basecharger delivers 125 kW charging speed, adding up to 60% of range in four hours, and supports 180–1000 VDC with a 6-meter cable. Designed as a fully integrated unit weighing 100 kg (H x W x D: 340 x 1200 x 2000 mm), it eliminates the need for a separate AC-to-DC cabinet and supports open protocols like ISO15118-2 and OCPI, using the MCS 3.2 standard. Tesla describes it as 'home charging' for heavy-duty fleets, with continuous output of 150 A and deliveries scheduled to start in early 2027. The Megacharger Cabinet with two posts offers up to 1200 kW shared DC output (180–1000 VDC), with a cabinet-to-post cable distance up to 100 m. Measuring 1175 × 1390 × 1925 mm and weighing 1,100 kg, it achieves over 96% efficiency with high-efficiency, low-noise cooling that requires no ventilation. Pricing excludes estimated taxes and installation: two Basechargers total $40,000 (including $31,000 units, $6,000 services, $3,000 shipping), while two Megacharger posts with cabinet total $188,000 ($179,000 units, $6,000 services, $3,000 shipping). Businesses can scale up to 100 Basechargers for $2 million or 100 Megacharger posts for $9.4 million.
