Egypt and Sudan advance industrial cooperation, building on recent Tanzania talks

Following high-level talks with Tanzania, Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Kamel Al-Wazir, met Sudan's Minister of Industry and Trade, Mahasin Ali Yaqoub, to deepen bilateral industrial and trade ties. Emphasizing shared historic and geographic bonds, the discussions focused on integration, leveraging Sudan's resources with Egypt's expertise for mutual prosperity.

Al-Wazir outlined Egypt's vision for joint projects, highlighting Sudan's raw materials and workforce to add value in key sectors. Proposals included mechanized slaughterhouses and modern tanneries in Sudan, modeled on Egypt's successes in Chad and Tanzania, to enhance meat and leather exports. Opportunities in pharmaceuticals featured veterinary drug production facilities, coordinated with Egypt's Pharmaceutical Industry Chamber.

Plans also covered fertilizer plants with Egypt's Fertilizer Industry Chamber to support agriculture. Egypt committed to human capital development via training from technology centers and the Egyptian Organization for Standards and Quality. Sudanese firms would gain permanent spaces in Egypt's exhibitions to showcase products.

Sudan's minister praised Egypt's industrial achievements, expressed intent to localize them, and pledged incentives for Egyptian investors to harness natural resources and drive economic growth.
