Ethiopian Electric Power is working to ensure reliable electricity supply nationwide and to position Ethiopia as Africa's renewable energy hub.
The utility is focusing on constructing power generation plants, distribution stations and expansion lines. It is also updating existing infrastructure and carrying out additional expansion in areas with high electricity demand.
The Debre Markos and Bahir Dar corridor is included in the expansion works. Construction of the Bure Agro Industry distribution station has reached 55 percent completion.
The Injibara 230 kV distribution station will be built with a 19.5 million dollar loan from the World Bank.
