L'Éthiopie veut devenir la plaque tournante de l'énergie renouvelable en Afrique

Ethiopian Electric Power travaille à garantir un approvisionnement fiable en électricité à l'échelle nationale et à positionner l'Éthiopie comme le centre névralgique de l'énergie renouvelable en Afrique.

La compagnie publique se concentre sur la construction de centrales de production, de postes de distribution et de lignes d'extension. Elle procède également à la modernisation des infrastructures existantes et réalise des extensions supplémentaires dans les zones à forte demande en électricité.

Le corridor Debre Markos et Bahir Dar est inclus dans ces travaux d'extension. La construction du poste de distribution de l'agro-industrie de Bure a atteint 55 % d'achèvement.

Le poste de distribution d'Injibara de 230 kV sera construit grâce à un prêt de 19,5 millions de dollars de la Banque mondiale.

Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh has inaugurated the rehabilitated and expanded Tendaho irrigation development project in Dubti woreda, Afar Region. Afar Region President Awel Arba and Water and Environment Minister Dr. Abraham Belay attended the event. The project has a capacity for 60,000 hectares, with 33,000 hectares now ready for irrigation.

Ethiopian Electric Power chief executive Ashenafi Balcha said Ethiopia is intensifying efforts to boost renewable energy and regional power links.
