Hop On misses court deadline for Wang Fuk Court owners meeting

Hop On Management Company did not hold a required owners meeting by the Lands Tribunal deadline on Saturday. The company attributed the delay to exceptional circumstances and said it would reschedule soon.

Hop On Management Company issued a notice to residents of Wang Fuk Court on Saturday explaining it could not convene the meeting as planned. The Lands Tribunal had rejected an earlier request by the company to postpone the session.

The meeting was ordered after 247 owners, more than 12 per cent of the estate's 1,984 households, petitioned on April 29 for a gathering to address issues following a deadly fire. Under the Building Management Ordinance, such a meeting must be held within 45 days of a valid request.

The company stated it had been preparing for the session despite unprecedented conditions and remained committed to advancing related tasks. No new date was provided in the notice.
