A 21-year-old man in Indianapolis is accused of shooting two friends while playing with a gun at a home on the city's west side.
Joshua Ledford faces two counts of battery by means of a deadly weapon and one count of criminal recklessness. The shooting occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on July 16 at a residence in the 1000 block of Denison Street.
Police said Ledford had been drinking with the victims and handling a black handgun. Witnesses reported warning him to stop, but he allegedly replied that he could do what he wanted because it was Indiana. The gun discharged while he pointed it at the pair, who were lying in bed, striking the man in the arm and the woman in the armpit.
Both victims were hospitalized but have since been released and are recovering at home. Ledford told investigators the incident was "100% on me" and that he was "a complete f—ing idiot." He was released to home confinement after posting an $8,000 bond.
