Korean rookies Song Sung-mun of the San Diego Padres and Go Woo-suk of the Minnesota Twins each delivered strong performances in Major League Baseball games over the weekend.
Song Sung-mun entered as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning against the Kansas City Royals on Sunday and went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. The San Diego Padres won the game 19-2.
Go Woo-suk pitched a scoreless eighth inning in relief against the Chicago Cubs, striking out two batters. He joined the Minnesota Twins via trade from the Detroit Tigers earlier this month and made his MLB debut on July 9.
San Francisco Giants outfielder Lee Jung-hoo went 1-for-4 in a loss to the Seattle Mariners. He is batting .303 this season.
