Nato vælger Saab GlobalEye til luftbåren overvågning

Nato har valgt Saabs GlobalEye til sine fremtidige behov for luftbåren overvågning. Op til ti fly skal overvåge luft-, sø- og landområder.

Forsvarsalliancen Nato køber op mod ti GlobalEye-fly fra Saab. Systemet skal blandt andet opdage missilangreb i tide. Statsminister Ulf Kristersson (M) beskrev beslutningen som et stolt øjeblik for Sverige. Handlen forventes at skabe flere arbejdspladser i Linköping og Göteborg. Kommunalråd Elias Aguirre (S) i Linköping udtrykte stolthed over, at ingeniørkunst fra Östgöta bidrager til forsvaret af både Sverige og Nato.
