Tysk flåde udsender minerydningsfartøjet 'Fulda' og omdirigerer 'Mosel' til beredskab i Hormuz-strædet midt i krise

Midt i den igangværende krise i Hormuz-strædet har den tyske flåde taget konkrete skridt efter tidligere planlægning: minerydningsfartøjet “Fulda” er afsejlet fra Kiel-Wik mod Middelhavet, og forsyningsskibet “Mosel” trækkes ud af en NATO-mission i Det Ægæiske Hav for at støtte det. Begge vil indgå i NATO's minerydningsgruppe 2, klar til potentiel indsættelse i strædet, såfremt Forbundsdagen godkender det.

Minerydningsfartøjet “Fulda” forlod flådebasen Kiel-Wik mandag med omkring 40 besætningsmedlemmer, herunder minerydningsdykkere udstyret med sonar og fjernstyrede undervandsdroner, med kurs mod Middelhavet.

Det tyske forsvarsministerium har meddelt, at forsyningsskibet “Mosel” snart afslutter sin NATO-støtterolle i Det Ægæiske Hav for at assistere “Fulda”. Begge skibe er tildelt NATO's minerydningsgruppe 2. Dette følger viceadmiral Jan Christian Kaacks opfordring til at prioritere indsatsen og er i tråd med forsvarsminister Boris Pistorius' tidligere udtalelser om planlægning under forudsætninger som en våbenhvile, juridisk grundlag og et mandat fra Forbundsdagen.

“Den føderale regering er villig til at yde et væsentligt og synligt bidrag til en international koalition, der skal beskytte den frie sejlads i Hormuz-strædet,” udtalte ministeriet.
