Octavian Ursu fra CDU har vundet borgmestervalget i Görlitz i en anden valgrunde mod AfD-kandidaten Sebastian Wippel.
Valget fandt sted i søndags. Ursu forsvarede dermed sit embede mod Wippel, som han også besejrede i anden valgrunde for syv år siden.
En alvorlig ulykke under valgkampen hjalp desuden den siddende borgmester. AfD opnåede ikke det nødvendige flertal trods deres stærke regionale tilstedeværelse.
Ursu er bosiddende i Görlitz, har rumænske rødder og vandt som kandidat for CDU.
