Jakarta police have named a man with initials GVK as a suspect in the damage of a Mini Cooper in Sunter, North Jakarta. The incident took place on July 9, 2026, and footage of the event circulated widely online.
According to Ajun Komisaris Polisi Nurul Farouq Fadillah, the suspect believed his vehicle had been bumped but checks found no evidence. His frustration led GVK to exit the Toyota Calya and strike the victim's car.
Reported damage includes the right side mirror, two wipers, and the body of the vehicle. The victim remained inside out of fear before reporting the matter to police.
The suspect was detained in Kwitang on the evening of the incident. He now faces charges under Article 521 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of two years and six months in prison.
