Ella Williams, performing as Squirrel Flower, has revealed her next album titled Say a Prayer to the Gods of Getting Going. The record is set for release on August 21 via Polyvinyl Records. A video for the lead single Reelin has also been shared.
The album features contributions from several musicians including Dimitri Giannopoulos of Horse Jumper of Love, Dave Hartley of The War on Drugs, Sofia Jensen of Free Range, and Clay Frankel of Twin Peaks.
Williams described the inspiration for the single in a statement. She noted that the lyrics began as an art piece on an overdue Kansas Turnpike toll bill. The track serves as an ode to the push and pull of domesticity and unraveling.
A full list of fall tour dates was also announced. Several shows will feature support from acts such as The Beths, Spoon, and Ethel Cain. Performances begin in North Carolina this week and extend through November across multiple U.S. cities and Canada.
