Squirrel Flower annonce un nouvel album et des dates de tournée

Ella Williams, qui se produit sous le nom de Squirrel Flower, a dévoilé son prochain album intitulé Say a Prayer to the Gods of Getting Going. Le disque sortira le 21 août via Polyvinyl Records. Une vidéo pour le premier single, Reelin, a également été partagée.

L'album comprend des contributions de plusieurs musiciens, dont Dimitri Giannopoulos de Horse Jumper of Love, Dave Hartley de The War on Drugs, Sofia Jensen de Free Range et Clay Frankel de Twin Peaks.

Williams a décrit l'inspiration derrière le single dans une déclaration. Elle a noté que les paroles ont commencé comme une œuvre d'art sur une facture de péage en retard du Kansas Turnpike. Le morceau fait office d'ode aux tiraillements entre vie domestique et effondrement.

Une liste complète des dates de la tournée d'automne a également été annoncée. Plusieurs concerts bénéficieront du soutien d'artistes tels que The Beths, Spoon et Ethel Cain. Les représentations débuteront cette semaine en Caroline du Nord et se poursuivront jusqu'en novembre dans plusieurs villes des États-Unis et du Canada.
