TBE stiger ikke i Dalarna trods varmere klima

I modsætning til resten af Sverige stiger TBE-infektioner ikke i Dalarna. Nogle kommuner har dog en forhøjet risiko, og vaccination anbefales der.

Den flåtbårne virus TBE kan forårsage alvorlig sygdom. Det stadig varmere klima får flåter til at bevæge sig længere nordpå, hvilket betyder, at TBE er i stigning på landsplan.

Men ikke i Dalarna, ifølge vicedirektør for infektionskontrol Helena Ernlund. Hun anbefaler vaccination i kommuner med forhøjet risiko.

SMHI warns of tropical heat in southern Sweden

A yellow warning has been issued for high temperatures in parts of Blekinge and Kalmar counties on Thursday and Friday. Tropical heat is expected this weekend, posing risks to vulnerable groups.

Dalarna's infection control unit has updated its advice following new recommendations from the Public Health Agency of Sweden. Residents in Borlänge, Säter, Avesta, Smedjebacken, Ludvika and Hedemora should now get vaccinated against TBE.

SMHI has expanded its warning for high temperatures in Sweden. A heat wave is expected to hit as early as Friday with temperatures up to 30 degrees.

An unusual outbreak of blue tit disease has struck small birds in southern and central Sweden since March. Hundreds of reports of dead birds have reached Statens veterinärmedicinska anstalt (SVA).
