TBE not rising in Dalarna despite warmer climate

Unlike the rest of Sweden, TBE infections are not increasing in Dalarna. However, some municipalities have elevated risk and vaccination is recommended there.

The tick-borne virus TBE can cause severe disease. The increasingly warmer climate is making ticks move further north, which means TBE is increasing across the country as a whole.

But not in Dalarna, according to deputy infection control physician Helena Ernlund. She recommends vaccination in municipalities with elevated risk.
