The tragic incident occurred around 4:25 p.m. on March 6, 2026, in Comuna Nueve of Neiva, near the José María Carbonell neighborhood, specifically at carrera 9 with calle 87. Ian Daniel Gómez Dorado, aged 3, was playing on the public road when, according to community accounts, he unexpectedly stepped onto the street. At that moment, the driver of minibus internal number 127, license plate TBK171, affiliated with Coomotor company, reversed and struck him.

Upon arrival, the boy showed no breathing or pulse, with multiple traumas and bleeding from his nose, mouth, and ears.

Medical staff began advanced resuscitation procedures, including orotracheal intubation, chest compressions, and oxygen supply, for about 30 minutes. However, the child did not respond, and his death was declared due to cardiorespiratory arrest from the sustained traumas.

Neiva's Mobility Secretariat is investigating the responsibilities of those involved, including who was supervising the child at the time, as he was taken to the health center by a neighbor. Fiscalía's criminalistics units collected evidentiary materials at the scene to clarify the circumstances. The body was transferred to the National Institute of Legal Medicine.
