VW præsenterer Jetta X som prisvenlig elbil ved Beijing Auto Show

Volkswagen præsenterede et konceptkøretøj fra sit undermærke Jetta ved Beijing Auto Show: den elektriske kompakte SUV Jetta X til en pris på omkring 10.000 euro. Modellen sigter efter at genvinde tabte markedsandele fra rivaler som BYD og Toyota. Den er udviklet udelukkende til det kinesiske marked.

Beijing Auto Show, verdens største bilmesse i år, starter officielt på fredag. Tirsdag aften lokal tid fremviste Volkswagen allerede sin premiere i Beijing: Jetta X, et koncept for en ny generation af prisvenlige elbiler i indgangssegmentet.

Den kompakte SUV's mest iøjnefaldende egenskab er prisen på lige over 10.000 euro – den laveste for nogen elbil fra VW-koncernen. Den bliver ikke tilgængelig i Europa, da den er fuldt udviklet i Kina til det lokale marked.

Adm. direktør Oliver Blume og Kina-chef Ralf Brandstätter foretager et dristigt sats. I stedet for at lade hovedmærket Volkswagen kæmpe mod hård priskonkurrence, vil undermærket Jetta fremover håndtere det elektriske indgangssegment.

Jetta har været et selvstændigt undermærke i Kina siden 2019. De meget ambitiøse salgsmål har til formål at genvinde tabte andele på verdens største bilmarked.
