A Missouri woman admitted to killing a 4-year-old boy she babysat in 2018 and then joining the search for him. Quatavia Givens, 33, pleaded guilty on Friday to second-degree murder, child abuse, and abandonment of a corpse.
Givens was sentenced to life in prison plus 15 years, with the possibility of parole after 30 years. She beat and smothered Darnell Gray before reporting him missing from his father's home in Jefferson City on Oct. 25, 2018. She claimed the boy had vanished along with his backpack, coat, hat, gloves, juice boxes, and cookies, and she took part in the six-day search while giving interviews to local news outlets.
