Die Diamond-League-Gala in Monaco hat den Stabhochsprung der Männer in ihr Programm aufgenommen. Dies geschah auf Wunsch von Duplantis selbst und den Organisatoren.

Sein Manager Daniel Wessfeldt bestätigte, dass sowohl der Veranstalter als auch Duplantis einer Teilnahme positiv gegenüberstanden. Die Veranstaltung wurde daraufhin um diese Disziplin erweitert.

Duplantis ist kürzlich nach Monaco gezogen. Das Meeting wird sein erster Wettkampf in seiner neuen Heimatstadt sein.
