The ninth meeting between unions and Consellera Carmen Ortí ended without agreement on Sunday, leading to a sit-in by union representatives and outdoor protests that included an incident with the National Police.

The meeting began at 18:18 and ended one hour and fifteen minutes later when Consellera Ortí lifted the session. Representatives from STEPV, CCOO and UGT refused to leave and demanded that salary negotiations be reopened, already closed with CSIF and ANPE. Ortí warned them she would not revisit that block.

After 22:30, Ortí reaffirmed her position in a private meeting. The union leaders stayed inside until near midnight, when they received a notice warning of sanctions for a very serious offense, including disqualification. STEPV spokesperson Marc Candela said they were “practically threatened and forced to leave”.

Outside, hundreds of teachers formed a human chain and staged a sit-in. A National Police officer pushed a retired teacher from behind, causing her to fall and suffer a broken nasal septum and stitches on her chin. The Government Delegation, led by Pilar Bernabé, announced an exhaustive investigation and described the act as “unacceptable”.
