Federal officials subpoena Hasan Piker and Medea Benjamin over Cuba trip

Federal officials have issued subpoenas to Twitch streamer Hasan Piker and CodePink co-founder Medea Benjamin as part of an investigation into a March trip to Cuba. The subpoenas come from the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control and examine possible violations of U.S. sanctions laws.

The subpoenas target activities during the trip organized by the Nuestra América Convoy. Investigators are reviewing whether participants financed travel, handled logistics, delivered supplies, or conducted transactions involving Cuba’s government. They are also checking if travelers stayed at properties listed on the State Department’s restricted list.
