KBO surpasses 1 million fans in fewest games ever

The Korea Baseball Organization set a record by reaching 1 million attendees in just 55 games this season. This surpasses the previous mark of 60 games from 2025. The milestone was achieved after Friday's five games drew a combined 91,459 fans.

The Korea Baseball Organization announced that attendance for the 2026 season reached 1,011,465 fans through 55 games as of Friday, April 10. This marks the fewest games ever to hit the 1 million milestone, beating the prior record of 60 games set in 2025.

Last year, the KBO achieved each million-fan milestone in record time and ended the season with an all-time high of over 12.3 million total attendees. The league is averaging 18,390 fans per game so far, with 32 of the 55 games played before capacity crowds, including three sellouts on Friday.

Those sellouts included NC Dinos versus Samsung Lions at Daegu Samsung Lions Park with 24,000 fans; Kia Tigers against Hanwha Eagles at Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark with 17,000; and Lotte Giants against Kiwoom Heroes at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul with 16,000.

LG Twins hosted SSG Landers at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, drawing 23,122 fans, just 628 short of a sellout. Doosan Bears visited KT Wiz at the 18,700-seat KT Wiz Park in Suwon with 11,337 in attendance.
