Nach fast dreijähriger Bauzeit öffnet das Kumla vårdcentral am Montag seine Türen für Patienten.

Das Kumla vårdcentral hat einen fast dreijährigen Bauprozess abgeschlossen. Die Leiterin des Gesundheitszentrums, Petra Sundqvist, freut sich darauf, gemeinsam mit dem öffentlichen zahnärztlichen Dienst die ersten Patienten zu empfangen. Sie kann kaum glauben, dass nach der langen Wartezeit nun alles fertig ist. „Ich habe so lange, so lange, so viele Jahre gewartet“, sagt Petra Sundqvist. Einige Details müssen möglicherweise sowohl vor als auch nach der Eröffnung am Montag noch nachgebessert werden.

After 13 years in Sweden, Daniela Diaz, 38, is close to practicing as a dentist again. She arrived from Venezuela and has received support through a fast-track program at KI and from Tandvårdshuset in Borlänge.

Kajsa Westgren Forssén in Borlänge has secured a permanent position as the sole cleaner at Lanternans school after over ten years at Samhall. She was one of 1,310 people nationwide who transitioned to open labour market jobs in 2025. "I never thought I would leave Samhall", she says.

The University Animal Hospital in Ultuna, Uppsala, now provides emergency care for small animals like dogs and cats around the clock every day of the week. The department had been closed on weekends since spring 2023, drawing criticism from pet owners who had to seek help in other regions. The change was implemented at the end of March this year.

On Tuesday, spectators gathered at Viktoriaslussen in Stockholm to watch the first section of a new cycle and pedestrian bridge being towed into Söderström. The 220-metre-long bridge, built in Poland, has been divided into six sections due to transport constraints. Installation work is now starting and is expected to take six weeks.
