Man charged in ex-girlfriend's fatal shooting in Tustin

Police responded shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of Yorba Street and Medford Avenue in Tustin, where they found Fernandez unresponsive from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses described a man in black clothing fleeing in a dark sedan, and investigators determined Marquez had laid in wait near her workplace before shooting her as she walked to her car.
