Manuel Arjona, a member of the first Locomía lineup, died on Wednesday in Viladecans at age 58 while sleeping.
Manuel Arjona died suddenly at his home in Viladecans, Barcelona. He spent the day painting and passed away peacefully while sleeping, according to sources close to the artist via bandmate Xavier Font.
Arjona was part of the original Locomía quartet with Xavier Font, Luis Font and Gard Passchier. The group achieved success in the late eighties with songs such as Loco Mía and Rumba Samba Mambo, and sold several gold and platinum records in Spain and Latin America.
The singer left the band in 1992 after its peak years. He later took part in reunion attempts and in productions such as the Movistar Plus+ series about the group. The cause of his death remains unknown.
