Nine Discaya luxury cars fetch P102 million at auction

The Bureau of Customs has generated over P102 million from the sale of nine out of 13 luxury vehicles seized from contractor couple Sarah and Pacifico "Curlee" Discaya. This forms part of the government's efforts to recover funds allegedly siphoned through kickbacks from anomalous flood control projects. Four more vehicles remain in BOC custody for future auctions.

On February 27, the Bureau of Customs announced it had sold nine luxury vehicles from the Discaya couple for over P102 million in total. The most recent auction, held two days prior, fetched P25.751 million for three vehicles, plus P20,000 in registration fees.

The winning bids in that auction included a Lincoln Navigator (2024) purchased by Cantinetta Espresso Concepts for P6.95 million; a Cadillac Escalade ESV (2022) acquired by Igorot Stone Kingdom Inc. for P6.623 million; and a Bentley Bentayga (2022), which sold for the highest amount of P12.178 million to TDY Consumer Goods Trading.

Across four public auctions starting from November 2025, the first generated P38 million from three vehicles, the second P9.5 million, and the third P29 million. The other six vehicles sold for: Rolls-Royce Cullinan (2023) at P29 million; Mercedes-Benz G63 AMD (2022) at P15.6 million; Mercedes-Benz G500 (2019) Brabus at P15.5 million; Lincoln Navigator L (2021) at P7.1 million; Toyota Sequoia (2023) at P6 million; and Toyota Tundra (2022) at P3.48 million.

The vehicles were seized due to lacking import entry records and proof of paid duties and taxes. The BOC stated this action aids in recovering public funds allegedly lost to kickbacks in irregular flood control projects. "Restitution and transparency are at the core of our mission with these vehicles and in every enforcement action we undertake," said Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno. He added, "The BOC returns these funds to the Bureau of the Treasury, where they can be used to support and fund programs of the national government for our countrymen."

Four remaining Discaya-linked vehicles are still held by the BOC, with authorities considering direct offers to prevent further depreciation. The next public auction is tentatively scheduled for March 17.
