Rise in residential burglaries in Mora area

Police warn of a rise in burglaries in parts of the Mora police district.

Police are seeing a current increase in residential burglaries mainly in areas around Mora, Insjön, Leksand and Rättvik. Perpetrators have entered villas during daytime when residents were away, often via balcony doors or rear windows. Jewelry and valuables have been stolen. Police have received reports of unknown persons seen moving in residential areas and looking into properties before the burglaries. The authority urges the public to stay alert and report suspicious observations via 114 14. To reduce the risk, police recommend locking doors and windows, storing jewelry safely and keeping an eye on neighbors' homes. Police are working on several investigations in the area.
