Samsung launches AI Health Assistant in beta for US users

Samsung has begun rolling out its new Health Assistant chatbot in beta for eligible users in the United States. The tool integrates into the Samsung Health app to interpret data from multiple wellness areas and provide personalized guidance. It draws from five core pillars including sleep, activity, nutrition, mindfulness and vitals.

The feature connects health metrics across Samsung devices such as Galaxy Watches, smart rings and phones. It offers explanations and recommendations validated by physicians and certified health coaches, while also identifying patterns users might miss. The chatbot remains opt-in and does not provide medical advice or diagnoses.

Samsung says the assistant can factor in broader context like calendar schedules and smart home data through its Personal Data Engine. For example, late-night light usage might prompt notes on sleep impacts. Additional scores such as Energy Score and Fitness Index will accompany the rollout.

The company plans future expansions including deeper coaching on weight management. A separate platform under development would allow physicians to review wearable data between visits. The beta arrives just ahead of Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event.
