SMHI has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Västerbotten and Norrbotten on Saturday.
The warning applies from 12 to 20 on Saturday in western Västerbotten county and parts of Norrbotten's coast and inland areas. Meteorologist Theresé Fougman at SMHI states that the showers could bring 30 to 50 millimeters of rain in a short time and cause flooding in basements and on roads.
SMHI advises residents to move items in basements and clear gutters. Drivers are urged to proceed with caution due to risks of aquaplaning and poor visibility.
In the rest of the country, temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees are expected on Saturday before a low pressure system moves in from Jämtland on Sunday.
