The Avicii Arena in Stockholm marks its fifth anniversary on May 19 with a major choir concert featuring 3,333 students. Actor Emma Peters serves as host for the event, described as the largest choir concert in Sweden in 33 years.
Five years ago the Globen arena officially changed its name to Avicii Arena after musician Tim Bergling. The jubilee is now celebrated with the event Together in Tune at the venue.
The Tim Bergling Foundation is behind the initiative that works against mental illness. Emma Peters stressed the importance of letting the young people experience a professional stage performance.
Peters noted that she herself sang in a similar choir 33 years ago when 4,000 students celebrated the newly built Globen in 1993. She looks forward to communal singing with the audience.
The number of participants may vary slightly but stands at around 3,333 students according to the organizers.
