The Egyptian Drug Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with Sierra Leone's Pharmacy Board to enhance cooperation in pharmaceutical regulation and capacity building.
The agreement was signed by Ali El Ghamrawy, Chairperson of the Egyptian Drug Authority, and James Peter Komie, Chairperson of the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone. It took place in the presence of Ambassador Sadiq Sillah on the sidelines of the fifth edition of Africa Health ExCon 2026.
El Ghamrawy said the deal aligns with efforts to expand partnerships across African regulatory bodies. He noted it would support regulatory integration and improve access to safe medical products.
Ambassador Sillah praised Egypt's role in sharing expertise. Komie highlighted benefits for Sierra Leone's pharmaceutical sector through training and inspections.
