Kepler Interactive showcased its upcoming title Orbitals during Summer Game Fest 2026, offering journalists a hands-on look at the couch co-op adventure with retro anime styling.
The preview took place in a setup designed to evoke a child's bedroom at the Nintendo preview area on the SGF 2026 grounds. Players teamed up on Nintendo Switch 2 to repair a damaged spaceship through coordinated tasks such as using a remote claw and water spray.
Publisher Kepler Interactive described the game as an authentic recreation of late 1980s and 1990s Japanese anime. PR director Jack Kennedy called it "an anime you can play" and compared the experience to titles like Split Fiction and It Takes Two.
Art director Marcos Ramos drew from his childhood watching anime in Argentina to shape the visuals, which include hand-painted watercolor backgrounds and animations running at 24 or 12 frames per second. The game is scheduled to launch on Sept. 3.
