In Addis Ababa on February 13, 2018 (EC), Deputy Prime Minister Adem Farah, who heads the Democracy System Building Coordination Center and serves as President of the Prosperity Party, stated that Ethiopia is successfully implementing various strategies to ensure food security.

This remark came during a high-level discussion focused on African youth development and sustainable food supply, attended by the African Union's Food Security Ambassador and King Letsie III of Lesotho. In his message delivered through social welfare programs, Adem Farah noted that Ethiopia is fulfilling its commitment to promote the healthy development of children.

He further highlighted ongoing successful implementations of strategies to reduce malnutrition and promote green agriculture to secure food supplies. These efforts, he said, could benefit millions of mothers and children.

The government assured that it will continue and strengthen its initiatives to ensure sustainable food supplies at reliable levels. Participants were urged to provide due attention, emphasizing the need to strengthen national finances and implement measures to mitigate climate change impacts. They agreed to jointly work towards developing Africa's human resources for prosperity.
