KB65 has received an offer to join Hockeyettan following the denial of spots to Forshaga and Falu. The club is weighing the financial implications before deciding.
KB65 was offered a spot in the summer of 2024 but turned it down. The club later qualified on sporting merit the following year only to be denied an elite license.
After Forshaga and Falu were refused entry, KB65 received a new invitation via email from the league. Head coach Ted Svensson told Örnsköldsviks Allehanda that the club now has 700,000 kronor in equity and wants to avoid risking its finances.
An ascent would add roughly one million kronor in costs. Svensson noted that the timing in July makes preparations difficult because many players are on holiday.
The club has not yet made a decision. An appeal process involving Forshaga and Falu remains ongoing.
