Lucas Ekeståhl Jonsson set to leave Rögle for Björklöven

Lucas Ekeståhl Jonsson will not continue with Rögle next season despite two years remaining on his contract. Club officials confirmed the departure Monday as negotiations advance toward a return to his former team Björklöven.

Sport chief Hampus Sjöström stated that both sides agree Ekeståhl Jonsson will not play for Rögle in the 2026/27 season. The 30-year-old defenseman was absent from the team's first post-holiday training session and has long expressed interest in rejoining Björklöven, his original club now promoted to the SHL.
