Mattias Göransson set to leave Rögle after two seasons

Rögle is parting ways with defenseman Mattias Göransson. The 31-year-old joined the club two years ago but struggled to secure a regular roster spot.

Sports director Hampus Sjöström confirmed the move via text message. Göransson has not trained with the team since it reassembled after the holiday break, mirroring the situation of Lucas Ekeståhl Jonsson earlier in the week. Sjöström stated that the club is seeking a solution allowing Göransson to pursue greater responsibility elsewhere despite one year remaining on his contract.
