Modo defenceman Sverre Rønningen left team suddenly

Sverre Rønningen departed Modo abruptly during the season after playing only 19 games. The move came as a shock to the club according to sports chief Henrik Gradin.

Rønningen joined Modo ahead of the previous season and was expected to take on a significant role. He left before a match against Troja Ljungby. Gradin said the departure followed reports from the player's parents and agent that Rønningen was feeling unwell. The player told roommate Jakob Norén he had to go and then travelled by bus to Halmstad, train to Göteborg and onward to Storhamar. Modo had met with Rønningen the evening before and everything appeared normal. Club officials grew concerned when he stopped answering calls from his father and agent. Parents eventually reached him. Gradin noted that the incident remained unresolved for a long time at the club.
