Oromia community benefit projects enter service

Numerous projects benefiting residents in Ethiopia's Oromia region have entered service, according to Prosperity Party officials. In Jimma town alone, 78 projects completed at a cost of 3.9 billion birr were inaugurated.

Nemera Buli, political affairs head of the Oromia branch of the Prosperity Party, spoke at an event in Jimma. He noted that tangible changes have occurred in education and technology over recent years. Projects built through government budgets and public participation are confirming community benefits.

Over the past five years more than 20,000 schools were constructed. Cottage industry sheds have also helped employ youth. This year the region is constructing over 28,800 projects at a cost of 339 billion birr.

Starting today more than 21,000 projects worth 260 billion birr are scheduled to be inaugurated, officials indicated. All efforts strengthen public participation in Oromia.
