Professor urges condemnation of former TPLF group activities

Professor Kindeya Gebrehiwet, former head of the Tigray interim administration secretariat, called on the international community to condemn anti-peace activities by the former TPLF group.

Professor Kindeya Gebrehiwet stated in Addis Ababa that the former TPLF extremist group attempted a coup against the Tigray interim administration. He said the move showed that such actions cannot occur without conflict and chaos.

He praised the federal government for its patience in upholding the Pretoria peace agreement. The group is conducting forced military recruitment in various areas and causing suffering to youth, he added.

The Tigray people are strongly opposing attempts at renewed war, he noted. Unresolved issues must be addressed through dialogue and constitutional means rather than military action, he stressed.
