Ruth Garbus lanza un nuevo sencillo antes de su álbum Profound

El nuevo álbum de Garbus, Profound, cuenta con la colaboración de Elie McAfee-Hahn en los teclados y Nick Bisceglia en la guitarra. Grabado en el estudio casero de King Tuff en Vermont, el disco incluye versiones de Garbus de dos composiciones de Gabriel Fauré: ‘Clair de Lune’ y ‘Nocturne’. Estas piezas provienen de su formación en el Brattleboro Music Center con School of Song y Junko Watanabe, y los temas reflejan las influencias de su tiempo allí. Garbus describió el sencillo principal en un comunicado de prensa: ‘I Think I’m Ready Now es una canción sobre ser una fruta madura. Supongo. Quiero decir, la escribí de la misma manera que escribo la mayoría de mis canciones, excepto que me reía de mi propia audacia un poco más de lo habitual. Tiene una tensión, en parte porque me parece importante, no sé exactamente por qué. [...] Así es como suele suceder: cuando pienso que necesito ser contundente en cómo canto o cómo abordo el arreglo, resulta que solo necesito dar un paso atrás y es entonces cuando surge la fuerza’. Desde Alive People, Garbus lanzó un álbum debut con su trío Earth Flower junto a Philippe Melanson y Sam Gendel. Su banda tiene programada una actuación el 6 de mayo en Cassette, en Queens, Nueva York, con el apoyo de Dear Nora.
