A man was killed in a stabbing at a bank branch in Regensburg on Wednesday. Police arrested the suspected perpetrator, a 20-year-old German man.
The attack occurred around 2:50 p.m. The 20-year-old suspect fatally injured a bank employee with a knife. The victim died shortly after being taken to hospital.
Police and prosecutors are investigating a completed homicide and suspected robbery. Special forces secured two other people from the branch and cordoned off the area. A hostage situation was initially feared.
The suspect offered no resistance and was arrested more than three hours after the alarm. He is scheduled to appear before a judge on Friday. Police assume a lone perpetrator.
