Västerås rejects Visby interest in forward Jakobsson

Västerås has downplayed interest from Visby in forward Carl Jakobsson. The club's assistant sports chief said the player remains under contract for another year.

Västerås assistant sports chief Stefan Holmgren said the club has no plans to release Jakobsson. He described the reported interest as overstated and noted that the player has a connection to Gotland. “We have him on contract and would not release him,” Holmgren told Expressen. He added that any rumor was likely misinterpreted and that Jakobsson will remain important for the team. Visby sports chief André Lundholm confirmed he contacted Jakobsson's agent to inquire about possible extensions. Lundholm said no further discussions took place after learning no extra year was available. Jakobsson led Västerås in points last season and grew up on Gotland. Both clubs agreed the situation was exaggerated in local media.
