Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni today filed a new sworn declaration with the Anti-Corruption Office, adding $513,000 in cryptocurrency savings that did not appear in prior records.
Adorni explained the funds came from an initial $200,000 investment made with his wife between 2013 and 2018 in Bitcoin, which yielded a profit close to $300,000. He said he had saved "in black" like many Argentines to protect against economic instability.
The filing drew strong internal criticism. Patricia Bullrich described the omission as "more than an error" and an "ethical omission." Vice President Victoria Villarruel formally demanded that Adorni report to the Senate at least once a month.
The judicial investigation into alleged illicit enrichment continues under Judge Lijo and Prosecutor Pollicita. Adorni announced he will present his management report to the Senate in July.
